Step-by-Step Walkthrough

What Happens at Your First Visit

01

Before You Arrive

Book online or by telephone with no GP referral needed for private visits. Bring 2–3 pairs of regular shoes, any previous orthotics or scan reports, and your health fund or Medicare card.

02

Initial Conversation

Dr Sumit Arvind reviews your medical history, symptom timeline, occupation, and movement goals to understand how your condition affects your daily life.

03

Physical & Biomechanical Assessment

Hands-on anatomical palpation, joint range-of-motion testing, muscle strength checks, neurovascular screening, and video gait observation where indicated.

04

Diagnosis & Plain-Language Explanation

We explain what structure is involved, why it has become overloaded or irritated, and answer all of your questions clearly.

05

Individualised Treatment Plan

Immediate clinical care (such as nail/skin treatment, strapping, or offloading) alongside a tailored rehabilitation, footwear, or orthotic plan.

06

Follow-Up & Rebate Claiming

Process your HICAPS private health rebate or Medicare EPC claim on-site at reception, and schedule any required review or progression check.

What to Bring Checklist

  • Your Regular Footwear: Bring everyday shoes, work boots, or running sneakers so wear patterns and midsole support can be inspected.
  • Existing Orthotics or Insoles: Any custom orthotics or chemist arch supports you currently or previously used.
  • Medical Imaging & Reports: Recent X-rays, diagnostic ultrasounds, CT scans, or MRI reports for your feet, ankles, or knees.
  • Health Fund, Medicare, or DVA Cards: Along with your GP EPC or DVA D904 referral letter if claiming under those programs.

What to Wear

Please wear or bring comfortable clothing—such as shorts, activewear, or loose-fitting trousers that can be rolled above the knee.

Why Lower-Leg Visibility Helps

During a biomechanical or sports assessment, observing knee alignment, tibial rotation, and ankle movement allows a complete evaluation of your lower kinetic chain.

Attending straight from work? You are welcome to bring a pair of shorts to change into inside our private consulting room.
